The Captain. My name Is Alexandre Carrier and my mission with XELA Expeditions is to immerse clients deep into the action through wildlife encounters few have seen. I use only the most elite techniques for approaching wildlife. Over the last 10 years I have been honing my skills and developing methods while free diving to approach, observe and capture wildlife in images. My passion is to share these skills. What makes XELA Expeditions different from any other dive charter is that every expedition is ran at an elite level of quality and precision from the techniques used to top dive guides. Allowing more private charters for a more personalized experience along with a stealthier approach towards the target species. .
The Boat. Welcome aboard “Ghost Drifter” a 31 foot Panga specifically designed from the ground up over the course of two years for approaching shy aquatic predators and other marine life. Every detail in the design of this this boat helps to provide a non intrusive, safe and animal friendly approach to shark diving. The boat was designed to be safe, eco-friendly and stealthy. This last feature is key to approach large but shy pelagic species. She drifts like a dream and her footprint on the water is minimal. XELA Expeditions is committed to lowering the impact on the ocean and has a 0 tolerance policy aboard for any boat fluids leaking into the ocean. Ghost Drifters low profile footprint on the surface provides the best fuel economy of any boat her size greatly reducing carbon emissions on long missions.
