The Day Drift Expedition takes place on the XELA Expeditions vessel, Ghost Drifter. This 31ft vessel was built to be eco-friendly and has one of the lowest fuel consumptions for its size. The small footprint of this vessel minimizes the interference with some of the more shy marine species and provides a more natural interaction with the animals.

The Day Drift Expedition focuses on finding and interacting with some of the local marine animals off of the coast of Palm Beach, FL. Some of the local and seasonal sharks that we have the possibility of viewing are: bull sharks, great hammerhead sharks, scalloped hammerhead sharks, tiger sharks, black tip reef sharks, lemon sharks, silky sharks, dusky sharks, sandbar sharks, and caribbean reef sharks. However, the ocean is vast and we have the possibility of seeing some species such as: mako sharks, great white sharks and oceanic white tip sharks. The rich waters of the Gulf Stream current run north up the coast of Florida, and can bring all kinds of fish and other marine animals into our drift area!
